Brent Butt, the Canadian comedian in Corner Gas, has taken on a new role in Hiccups. In it he plays a life coach to his real life wife Nancy Robertson.
As Stan Dirko, life coach, he is hired to help Millie Upton, (Nancy Roberson) a children’s author with anger management issues.
Ron James, another Canadian comedian, was on tour recently on his West Coast Wild tour. In this show he speaks also of life coaches
and the purpose they serve. He speaks of the "baby boomers" and how they will age and I quote "With a Cabernet in one hand and a life coach in the other. Life coach, what the geez is that? Life coach, some new
aged nob that charges you money for something you should be getting for free. Sure, you know what that is, advice.."
I am happy to see that we life coaches have finally hit the big time. I mean really, being roasted and acknowledged by Canadian comedians. Doesn’t get any better than that. Well ok maybe it does. I am happy to say that I, life coach Jan, made a pitch to the JUNO Award committee this year for consideration of one of my services to be included in the Presenter/Performer Gift Bags. It was a long shot but I’d either get a yes or a no, no harm done if it’s a no and lots of fun if it’s a yes. Well it was a yes and so, Living la Vida Fearless Coaching Services, has prepared a certificate that will be given to the Presenter/Performers of the 2010 JUNO Awards broadcast. The certificate is for a free one hour Discovery Session all done over the phone. I could do them in person too but over the phone is convenient for most people so that’s the way it’s being offered.
Wow, and double wow….As far as I know this is a first for the coaching industry and I’m excited about that fact. Thanks Brent Butt and Ron James for making us visible and, to all the 2010 JUNO Award Gift Bag recipients, congratulations on your achievements. You did not get this far without vision, perseverance, hard work and believing in your dream.
